Launching Albany Aqua Ducks

Albany Aqua Ducks is an amphibious tour company, headquartered in Albany, N.Y. Starting operations in 2004, Albany Aqua Ducks offer 75-minute, guided tours of New York State's Capital City that include a land excursion through historic Downtown Albany, with a “spashdown” that offers a mariner's view of the city's skyline from the Hudson River.

Departing from the Albany Visitor Center in QUACKenbush Square, Albany Aqua Ducks transport guests in U.S. Coast Guard certified, state-of-the-art HYDRA-TERRA amphibious vehicles that travel on a unique, educational and fun-filled tour of Albany's historic areas. The vehicle then becomes a vessel as it splashes into the Hudson River to see USS Slater, the Dutch Apple Cruise ship and other sites only visible from the vantage point of the river.

Albany Aqua Ducks also provide condensed amphibious tours operating from special events taking place in the City of Albany including Albany's Tulip Festival, River Fest, Lark Fest, Alive At Five and Albany Latin Festival, as well as Price Chopper's Fabulous Fourth and festivals at the Empire State Plaza.

Albany Aqua Ducks offer affordable, educational field trips for the region's school children - field trips developed by educators with an emphasis on curriculum appropriateness by age group. Each field trip combines a “marine component” with science or social studies related blocks.

Albany Aqua Ducks' vehicles are available for charters, providing a new and exciting way to enjoy corporate outings, reunions, weddings and themed birthday parties.

Albany Aqua Ducks plan to provide service to the Capital Region by offering service to other communities hosting events along the region's waterways that the Duck can access.

Albany Aqua Ducks will operate with a fleet of newly constructed 46-passenger, HYDRA-TERRAs - the safest amphibious vehicles available. They offer comfortable spacious seating in fully carpeted interiors. For those cool spring and fall outings, the vehicles are equipped

with heaters and roll-down windows. As vessels, Albany Aqua Ducks' HYDRA-TERRAs are unsinkable and are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard for operation on the Hudson River.

Operators are U.S. Coast Guard licensed captains who also hold New York State Department of Motor Vehicle CDL licenses for land operation. Specially trained tour guides provide educational and fun narratives as Albany Aqua Ducks travel the streets and river for all to enjoy.
